Short Sale

We finally closed on our new old home!  We signed a contract for our home in April 2013, and it took seven long months to sit at the closing table.  The term "short sale" is seriously deceiving.  It really should be "long sale."  Needless to say it was a day of celebration!

We have BIG plans for our new home.  Construction starts next week.  Here is a list of things the contractor will be doing:
- Updating the electric panels
- Gutting two bathrooms
- Gutting the old porch that was turned into a laundry room
- Building a pantry
- Building a closet
- Scraping the outside of the home and re-painting
- Replacing the roof
- Replacing the heating and air, and all the ducts
- Building a fence with a powered gate
- Removing a few trees

And this is what we will be doing:
- Removing a TON of wallpaper
- Painting the interior
- Painting the kitchen cabinets
- Putting in a new kitchen back-splash
- Refinishing the wood floors
- Cleaning and refinishing the clawfoot tub and porcelain sinks
- LOTS of Landscaping

As you can see, the house will be getting a major face-lift!  We likely won't move in for some time, but you are all welcome to come visit and lend a hand on the weekends.

Tah-Tah for now!
